The coast. A short walk.

The harbour at Boscastle is approximately 15 minutes walk down the lane. There you will find pubs, restaurants, cafe's, shops and the Visitor Centre which has lots of information about Boscastle, the surrounding area and the flood that happened in 2004. The nearest beach can be found at Trebarwith Strand which is approx 10 min. away by car, Polzeath is a Blue Flag beach and is approx 25 mins away for any surfers and swimmers, and the glorious Daymer Bay is also close by, The area is well known for its Coastal footpaths and these are very easily accessed.

 

Places of Interest.

The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are both within driving distance. Tingatel Castle is approximately 5 miles away by car. Padstow with its glorious harbour and many eateries is close by using the car park at Rock and then using the ferry, alternatively you can travel to Padstow by car. Camel Valley Vineyard is another interesting stop for a tour or if that's not for you, you can of course sample a glass of wine or two!

  • Take afternoon tea at Boscastle Farm Shop overlooking the sea
  • Visit King Arthurs Castle at Tintagel
  • Cycle along the Camel Trail from Padstow to Wenfordbridge via Wadebridge and Bodmin or join the trail along the route for a shorter ride. Bikes can be hired from Wadebridge, Padstow and Bodmin.
  • Visit Historic Houses such as Prideaux House in Padstow and Lanhydrock House in Bodmin
  • Take a look at some Art Galleries and perhaps make some art yourself at the Sculpture Workshop in Wadebridge
  • Visit Ancient Fishing Villages such as Port Issac, Polperro and Megavissey.
  • Take a Ride, there are various stables close by offering horse and pony rides for every ability
